Villa Bel Esprit
Villa Bel Esprit
Overlooking the Bay of Lorient, Villa Bel Esprit is situated on a site that is part flat and part sloped, where luxurious vegetation and ravines are typical of the tropical climate. A particular challenge was to preserve the original West Indies spirit and yet to build a contemporary extension taking account of the storm and seismic risks.

As a result, Villa Bel Esprit combines a series of renovated colonial wooden bungalows and a prestigious brand new extension to house the principle rooms.

The fixtures in the Villa Bel Esprit are designed by ODP and respect the bungalows’ ancient and the main building’s modern features. The furniture and decorations were acquired by the owner of the house on his travels around the world and help to create a unique atmosphere in the villa.

Fiberglass insulation, which keeps the villa cool, helps to minimise energy consumption.
